I’m working directly with the CISO of a global organisation at the forefront of technology to hire a Senior Data Security Engineer into a highly visible cyber security team.
This is an environment where technology plays a central role in the success of the business. Operating at scale across a global Microsoft estate, the organisation is continuously evolving its security capabilities to keep pace with an ever-changing threat landscape. The result is a fast-paced environment where you’ll be solving complex and often unique security challenges rather than supporting a static set of controls.
Reporting directly to the CISO, you’ll take ownership of key data protection capabilities across the organisation, helping ensure sensitive information is identified, classified, protected and monitored throughout its lifecycle. You’ll work closely with technical and business stakeholders to design, implement and continuously improve controls that reduce risk while enabling the business to operate effectively.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on Data Loss Prevention, data classification, information protection and Microsoft security technologies. You’ll be responsible for implementing and optimising controls across Microsoft 365, Azure, endpoints, email and cloud platforms, while supporting investigations, improving detection capabilities and enhancing the overall maturity of the organisation’s data protection programme.
To be considered, you must have:
• Strong hands-on experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies in enterprise environments
• Strong experience with Microsoft Purview, including DLP, Information Protection and Sensitivity Labels
• Experience implementing data classification, labelling and information protection frameworks
• Experience securing Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
• Experience investigating data leakage incidents and security events
• Experience configuring, tuning and improving DLP controls and policies
• Ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into practical technical controls
• Strong understanding of data governance, access controls and information security principles
Experience with technologies such as Varonis, Zscaler, Microsoft Defender, Insider Risk Management and related data protection platforms would be highly advantageous.
This opportunity would suit an engineer who enjoys solving difficult security problems, taking ownership of critical security capabilities and operating in a technically strong environment where security is viewed as a core business function rather than a support service.
