Security Engineering Lead – APAC

This is one of those rare leadership roles where you don’t have to stop being an engineer.

I’m working with a globally organisation with a high technical bar looking to hire a hands on Security Engineering Lead to build and mentor a growing team of security engineers across APAC. The team sits at 4 engineers and is growing to 5.

This role is roughly 60% technical and 40% leadership, so you’ll still be designing solutions, building automation, improving detections and solving complex engineering problems, while also coaching and developing a small, high-performing team.

My client is looking for someone who’s still deeply technical. Someone who enjoys writing Python, improving security tooling, building automation and getting involved during major incidents, but who’s also ready to lead from the front.

• Vulnerability Management
• Microsoft 365 Security
• Cloud Security
• Incident Response
• Coaching and mentoring engineers

This isn’t a people-management role where you’ll spend your week in meetings. It’s a genuine player-coach position where you’ll continue solving difficult engineering problems while helping others do the same.

You might be a technical lead currently or a senior/principal doing this role without the title and the high performing team behind you.
