Network Security Engineer – Amsterdam (Hybrid)
I’m currently working with a fast-growing organisation in the digital assets/financial services space who are looking to bring on an experienced Network Security Engineer to strengthen their security operations. This is a key role sitting at the heart of their technology function, where you’ll be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining the network-level defenses that protect high-volume trading systems, APIs, and data environments.
You’ll work closely with SOC analysts, cloud engineers, and development teams to harden infrastructure, automate rule creation, and respond to incidents in real time. The environment is fast-moving, so they’re looking for someone who is proactive, hands-on, and comfortable working in a high-stakes industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement secure products in collaboration with product owners and developers.
- Carry out in-depth code reviews to identify vulnerabilities such as logic flaws and race conditions.
- Set up and maintain SAST, DAST, and SCA tooling to continuously test and improve application security.
- Oversee and manage the bug bounty programme, validating and prioritising issues from third-party researchers.
- Organise and support security audits, including black box, red team, and purple team exercises.
- Ensure compliance with standards such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
- Conduct due diligence on third-party systems and vendors.
What they’re looking for:
- 8+ years’ experience in a security engineering role with a focus on cloud security, web applications, and Linux systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of secure SDLC, network protocols, and modern security tooling.
- Solid understanding of vulnerability management and incident response.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g. OSCP, CISSP, or cloud security certs) would be highly advantageous.
- A collaborative communicator who can work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
Flexible hybrid working with 2 days per week onsite in Amsterdam.
Please note: visa sponsorship is not available for this role, so applicants must already have the right to work in the Netherlands.
