Head of Security Engineering

I’m working with a high-growth FinTech company that’s looking for an experienced security engineering leader who’s still hands-on and enjoys solving technical problems.

You’ll lead Security Engineering across product, cloud infrastructure and internal systems. This isn’t a governance or compliance role. They’re looking for someone who can partner with engineering teams, influence architecture, and build security into how software gets developed.

AI is a big part of the roadmap, so experience securing AI tooling, LLMs or agentic workflows would be a huge plus.

You’ll likely have experience with:

• Leading Security Engineering or Product Security teams
• Cloud security (AWS, GCP or Azure)
• Security architecture and threat modelling
• Secure SDLC and modern application security
• IAM, authentication and infrastructure security
• Building security into fast-moving engineering organisations

Experience within FinTech, payments, digital assets or crypto would be beneficial, but it’s by no means essential.

Hybrid: San Francisco

Comp: $340k-$360k base + bonus + equity
