Cyber Security Engineer

We’re working with a global investment bank in London that is looking to hire an experienced Cyber Security Engineer into its Proactive Security team.

This is a hands-on engineering position focused heavily on SIEM, detection engineering, security automation and the development of preventative security controls.

You’ll work across the security technology stack, building and improving detection capabilities, integrating security tooling, automating processes and helping the organisation identify and mitigate threats before they become incidents.

We’re looking for someone with strong hands-on security engineering experience, ideally including:

• SIEM engineering, implementation and configuration
• Detection engineering and development of security monitoring use cases
• Threat hunting and incident investigation
• EDR and broader security tooling
• Security automation and orchestration / SOAR
• PowerShell and/or Python scripting
• Active Directory security and Windows event logging
• Log ingestion, parsing and integration
• Good understanding of networking, firewalls, proxies and VPNs
• Exposure to cloud environments such as Azure, AWS or GCP

Experience with the Microsoft security stack, particularly Sentinel, would be beneficial, although the team is technology agnostic and strong underlying engineering ability is more important.

You should also be comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and producing strong documentation and reporting.

Salary: Up to £75,000 base

Location: London – 2 days onsite per week
