APAC Detection & Response Manager

I’m hiring an APAC Detection & Response Manager in Sydney.

This is a senior technical leadership role sitting across detection & response engineering, cloud security and security automation.

The split is roughly 60% hands-on technical / 40% leadership, so I’m looking for someone who still wants to build, automate and solve difficult engineering problems while leading the APAC capability.

You’ll work across:

• Detection & response engineering
• Cloud security
• Python / PowerShell automation
• Incident response
• Building and integrating security tooling
• SIEM & EDR
• Identity & access security
• Vulnerability management
• Windows & Linux environments

The environment is heavily engineered and highly customised. Rather than simply operating security products, the team builds tooling, automation and capabilities internally to improve how security operates at scale.

You’ll lead the APAC capability from Sydney while working as part of one global security engineering organisation spanning APAC, Europe and the US. You’ll remain technically involved while developing engineers, leading initiatives and helping shape the broader security strategy.

I’m particularly interested in people who came through software engineering, cloud/platform engineering, infrastructure, SRE or deeply technical security engineering before moving into detection & response.

You don’t need to have spent your entire career in security. In fact, a strong engineering background is highly attractive.
