Senior Linux Engineer (On-Prem)

I’m partnered with a FinTech firm operating in a high-performance, mission-critical environment — think ultra-low latency systems and reliability at scale. Following continued growth and internal transformation, they’re now looking for a Senior Linux Engineer to join their core engineering team.

This is a purely hands-on position, working alongside an elite group of engineers to maintain, automate, and optimize large-scale Linux infrastructures – entirely on-prem (no cloud migration here).

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing and optimizing Linux systems in live production environments
• Writing batch scripts or automation code to streamline operations
• Implementing and maintaining monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Checkmk, and SNMP
• Working across networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, load balancers, switches, DNS
• Handling bare-metal provisioning and troubleshooting
• Using Git (merge request workflows) for version control
• Managing infrastructure via Puppet (or Ansible, Chef, SaltStack)

What I’m Looking For

• 3+ years of Linux on-premise experience in production environments
• Proven track record automating, monitoring, and tuning system performance
• Solid understanding of networking and core infrastructure principles
• Comfortable in a feedback-driven culture with direct communication
• A high-ownership mindset – you take full responsibility for the systems you build and run

Nice to Have

• Experience in high-performance trading, exchanges, or betting platforms
• Passion for system performance optimization and low-level tuning
• Skilled at troubleshooting complex production issues under pressure
