Network Implementation Engineer

Base Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 + Bonus

I am supporting a leading network solutions organisation that is expanding their delivery team with a hands-on Network Implementation Engineer. This is a highly technical role for someone who thrives in real customer environments, translating designs into production-ready infrastructure.

You will work directly with end clients, implementing high-availability network solutions, resolving operational challenges, and ensuring smooth handover to BAU teams. The ideal candidate has a strong Cisco foundation (CCNP preferred), a track record of enterprise deployments, and confidence owning implementations end-to-end.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Execute network implementations from High-Level Design (HLD) through to go-live
  • Configure, optimise and deploy solutions across client environments (LAN/WAN/SD-WAN/Firewalls)
  • Conduct on-site installations, upgrades, and migrations
  • Own troubleshooting and remediation of deployment issues
  • Maintain documentation, diagrams and deployment records to ensure clear knowledge transfer
  • Work closely with architects and senior engineers to translate design intent into practical delivery
  • Act as a technical touchpoint for clients during the implementation phase

You’ll Succeed Here If You Have

  • 5+ years’ hands-on network engineering experience in enterprise or MSP settings
  • Strong Cisco background — ideally CCNP certified (or actively pursuing)
  • Solid understanding of:
    • L2/L3 fundamentals
    • Routing & switching
    • VLANs, VRFs, BGP, OSPF
    • Site-to-site VPN, HA setups, firewalls
  • Experience working in operational environments (NOC/SOC/Network Ops/Field Engineering)
  • Ability to follow design standards while applying practical expertise to real-world edge cases
  • Clear communication skills when working on client sites and during handovers

Ideal Profile

You come from an operations background and have evolved into implementation – someone who has lived through outages, fixes, and messy migrations, and learned how to do things properly. You are comfortable with structured delivery but still pragmatic enough to get things done.

Working Pattern

  • Field role with direct client-site engagement
  • Hybrid working: 2 days per week
  • Some travel required for deployments or customer workshops

If you’re a Cisco-driven network engineer who enjoys turning architecture into reality, solving real-world challenges and delivering outcomes at customer sites – I’d love to speak with you.
