Network Evangelist – Technical Presales & Vendor Engagement (London | Hybrid)
Base Salary: £75,000 – £85,000 + Benefits
I am supporting a next-generation connectivity and infrastructure provider that is looking for a highly technical Network Evangelist to act as the face of their engineering capability. This is a unique position for someone who loves technology, loves people, and is energised by shaping thinking across clients, partners and the wider networking ecosystem.
You will be the first technical person in the room: advising clients, translating requirements, influencing design direction and articulating how complex network solutions solve real business problems. You’ll engage closely with vendors, speak at events and conferences and act as a trusted internal and external subject matter expert. This isn’t a marketing role – it’s a deeply technical ambassador position where credibility matters.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead technical presales engagements with prospects and existing partners
- Stand in front of customers and articulate complex networking concepts in clear, compelling language
- Represent the company across the channel: vendors, partners, distributors, events and networking communities
- Translate customer needs into architectural options, solution proposals, and statements of work
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, design summaries and reference materials
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies and best practices, bringing insights back to the internal engineering teams
- Act as an internal SME: answering technical questions, supporting solution design discussions, and guiding commercial teams with real-world context
- Function as a bridge between engineering, delivery, and commercial stakeholders

What You Bring
- Deep expertise in enterprise networking, architectures, protocols and vendor ecosystems
- Ability to interact confidently with technical and non-technical audiences
- Comfort owning a room – whether that’s a boardroom, technical roundtable, or vendor session
- Excellent written communication: solution briefs, proposals, technical articles, design papers
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for rapidly evolving networks, connectivity models, and automation culture
- A collaborator who can challenge assumptions and raise the technical bar internally
Accreditation & Technical Credibility
- CCIE (active) or currently pursuing – strong preference
- Experience engaging with senior vendor representatives (Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, etc.)
- Familiarity with modern approaches: SD-WAN, SASE, zero-trust networking, automation, IaC
- Strong grounding in routing, switching, segmentation, high-availability and multi-tenant environments
Culture & Exposure
This role sits at the technical front of the business. You will:
- Join customer meetings as the first technical point of contact
- Engage in early-stage architecture discussions
- Represent the brand at industry conferences and community events
- Build credibility and trust within the partner/vendor ecosystem
- Help shape how the business speaks about technology to the market
Â
Working Pattern
- Hybrid — London office ~2 days per week
- Vendor site visits and relevant industry events as required
If you’re the kind of engineer who loves being hands-on with technology but also loves being the person who explains it, champions it, and influences decisions — this could be an ideal next step. Reach out for a confidential discussion.
