My client is ready to bring in their next top-performing security engineer and this will be the first IAM Engineer in the security team. This presents a very exciting opportunity, however does create a challenge as being the first IAM Engineer in an already growing security team (currently 30 people), it means you need to have deep technical skills and the expertise to deliver identity for a global financial technology company.
This isn’t going to be a fit for most IAM Engineers, as my client isn’t looking for an engineer who can just implement tools, success hinges on your ability to understand the “why” behind IAM decisions and to implement effective policies and solutions, not just because your manager has told you to do it.
The successful candidate will most likely come from a mid-sized organization, vs someone who has been siloed in a global team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our IAM infrastructure, focusing on application, workplace, cloud, and machine identity.
- Collaborate closely with developers, systems engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of IAM solutions into our environment.
- Develop and implement IAM policies and procedures to enhance security posture and compliance.
- Take ownership of building out and shaping the IAM framework within our organization, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Drive automation initiatives within the security team, leveraging your proficiency in at least one programming language to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience as an IAM Engineer with deep technical expertise in identity and access management.
- Strong understanding of IAM principles and technologies, with hands-on experience in implementing IAM solutions across multiple platforms.
- Experience working with developers, systems engineers, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective IAM strategies.
- Proficiency in multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Mac.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
