Our client is an enterprise SaaS company with a globally distributed team. With over 200 developers worldwide, they are now looking to expand their product security function and hire a global leader based in Barcelona.
This role will be instrumental in securing product pipelines, integrating security into the development process, and enhancing security tooling for cloud and data infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and implement foundational security measures across the organization.
- Improve security tooling and processes around cloud and data infrastructure.
- Ensure development teams integrate security early in the development lifecycle.
- Conduct application security reviews and provide security guidance across the software development lifecycle.
- Engage in threat hunting and proactive security initiatives.
- Drive a data-driven security function with clear reporting and prioritization.
- Work independently with a hands-off management style, taking ownership of security initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong background in application security, infrastructure engineering, and threat hunting.
- Ability to read and understand Java and GoLang (coding not required but strong technical knowledge needed).
- Experience working with Ruby on Rails, Kubernetes, and cloud environments.
- Demonstrated ability to build security processes and integrate security into the development workflow.
- Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and shape security strategy.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, enterprise SaaS environment would be ideal.
Where this is a small global team, there is a strong element of hands on skills required, so this role would suit someone looking to step up to a senior position.
Location: Barcelona, Spain (Hybrid – 2 days on-site)
Compensation: €150k-€170k base + equity
